Washington Polytechnic Institute was a private evening college, founded with strong traditional principles, in order to foster integrity, discipline, and character in its graduates.  Most of the students worked in the refining, construction, or engineering industry during the day, and payed 100% of their own tuition.  In addition, most of the faculty worked in industry, which made them excellent role models for their students.  At its high point, the college had over 80 enrolled students and 12 adjunct faculty.
